Pulpitis and Necrosis
ACCIDENTS AND COMPLICATIONS
Root canal perforations
Also access:
NECROSE PULPAR:
O tecido pulpar sofre degeneração, e as funções vitais da polpa são interrompidas.
IRREVERSIBLE PULPITIS:
It can be symptomatic or asymptomatic, and it means a severe inflammation of the pulp tissue, due to some stimulus (internal or external).

NECROSE PULPAR:
O tecido pulpar sofre degeneração, e as funções vitais da polpa são interrompidas.
PULP NECROSIS:
The pulp tissue degenerates, and the vital functions of the pulp are disrupted.
REF: RGO - Rev Gaúcha Odontol., Porto Alegre, v.61, suplemento 0, p. 469-475, jul./dez., 2013
ACUTE PERIAPICAL ABSCESS:
Purulent collection located in the alveolar bone, adjacent to the root apex of a tooth with necrotic pulp, with extension of the infection to the periapical tissues through the apical foramen, accompanied by an intense periapical inflammatory reaction.
REF: RGO - Rev Gaúcha Odontol., Porto Alegre, v.61, suplemento 0, p. 469-475, jul./dez., 2013
CHRONIC PERIAPICAL ABSCESS:
Circumscribed area of suppuration, asymptomatic, of slow evolution. The pus formed, when in small amounts, is intermittently drained through the root canal or may be associated with a fistula that is intraoral.
REF: RGO - Rev Gaúcha Odontol., Porto Alegre, v.61, suplemento 0, p. 469-475, jul./dez., 2013
INTERNAL RESORPTION:
Internal root resorption is the progressive destruction of intrarradicular dentin and dentinal tubules along the middle and apical thirds of the canal walls as a result of a clastic activity.
REF: Reabsorção radicular interna: uma revisão, JOE Volume 36, Edição 7 , Julho de 2010 , Páginas 1107-1121
EXTERNAL RESORPTION:
External root resorption occurs when the body's immune system dissolves the tooth's root structure. It may occur for example after dental infection, orthodontic treatments or in the presence of unerupted teeth in the jaw.
REF: Interventions for the management of external root resorption, Cochrane Database Syst Rev. 2015 Nov; 2015(11): CD008003.
INCOMPLETE RHIZOGENESIS:
Incomplete rhizogenesis is the interruption of root development due to trauma or caries, which can trigger the loss of pulp vitality in immature permanent teeth.
